Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen buy Santa Monica home for $3.4 million

Ted Danson - the man best known for his comic roles in "Cheers," "Becker," and more recently on crime series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" - and his wife Mary Steenburgen have reportedly picked up a home in Santa Monica for $3.4 million.

The Real Estalker reported that the deal was an off-market one and a trusted source confirmed the transaction. The house is located in an affluent neighborhood that perches between Santa Monica and the Pacific Palisades and is home to other celebrities like Robert Downey Jr. and Bradley Cooper.

The blog asserts that the listing records are old and the photos that the records turned up could be as old. The listing hasn't been updated and as the sale was private, current information is not available.

According to the records the blog looked up, there are two residences on the property. The main house spans an approximate 2,700 square feet and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The detached guest house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms too.

The photos of the house show French windows and doors, hardwood flooring and mixed drywall and wood-beamed ceilings. The residence also has a stone-tile kitchen with a breakfast bar and an adjacent dining area. The two-story home has two bedrooms on the main level and the master bedroom takes up the entire upper floor.

Outside, the house has sitting areas with lovely views of the hillside. There is hammock-lounging area, a pool with an attached spa and ample parking area too.

Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen maintain a fairly large property portfolio. They have a pied-a-Terre in New York City, a home in Brentwood, an estate in Martha's Vineyard and an Ojai property that was owned by the famous Ellen DeGeneres for a while.

Danson and Steenburgen have now been married for a long time. Steenburgen is Danson's third wife and former president Bill Clinton was a friend of hers. According to Yahoo, during his term, Steenburgen and Danson shared the Lincoln bedroom in the White House quite a few times.

NOTE: This article has been tweaked to note a change. Mary Steenburgen's name had been mispelt as "Steenberg." It has been corrected.
