'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers: Greg Vaughan Exits Show as Eric Brady

"Days of Our Lives" will be saying goodbye to Greg Vaughan who is playing the role of Eric Brady through a heartbreaking scene for his exit.

Months ago, Vaughan excitedly shared the news of his return to DOOL but he is now done filming around mid-October for scenes where he is involved and will be leaving the show on mid-April.

According to him, show runners were already writing Eric out prior to his involvement in the show. He was also informed of said storyline and he is happy to be part of it. He even said that he is a big supporter of DOOL and wants to see it succeed. Hence, reports about his initiated departure aren't true since it is the show who decided about Eric's exit.

Apparently, Eric has been drinking heavily due to the challenging events that happened in his life. Spoilers reveal that Dr. Daniel of Shawn Christian will be killed off due to an accident caused by Eric. Vaughan said that the buzz about Eric killing Daniel in a car accident may not be right since Daniel will exit sooner. But his too much drinking will lead into a significant event, Soap Shows reported.

Vaughan teases that Eric’s “story is creatively going somewhere spectacular in my opinion. All the pieces start slowly coming together, making a great storyline and show.” He said that something big will happen to Eric that will be a shocker to the character.

Vaughan further added that his final scene will include Belle, Roman, Marlena, John, and Jennifer. It will be a huge surprise for the fans and will turn our very heartbreaking and devastating. But Eric will not face death to end his appearance in the long running soap opera.

"It’s going to be great. It’s the best work that I’ve collectively done, or been a part of since joining DAYS," Vaughan said according to Inquisitr. "My last scene that you will see, we did it in one take and I think it’s like seven minutes long!”

Fans are not happy about Vaughan's departure from the show but we will be seeing him for more episodes. As for Vaughan, he is thankful for the opportunity he was given to be part of the show. He even has something to say about his character, Eric Brady.

“I feel very comfortable with stating that my character Eric’s journey isn’t over. It just takes a direction that I think is going to be good for the character and the show…For instance, some of my favorites are The Sopranos, 24, or even Dexter. Someone unimaginable has to die to keep us as the audience tuned in for more. I’m not saying Eric is or isn’t going to die, but he will go down a path taking him off the canvas," Vaughan told Serial Scoop.

"Because of his downward spiral affecting many, many other characters intersecting stories within Salem, I think it is great story telling. Eric’s been an integral character and an important part of the show, and this is something that I think is a surprise to Eric’s character and the viewers which they will not see coming,” he added implying that the path of Eric will be a result of his drinking habit.
