Chicago Bears’ Jared Allen lists Minnesota home for $1.75 home

Jared Allen, the NFL defensive player who just signed a contract with the Chicago Bears, has reportedly listed his home in Minnesota for $1.75 million.

The Realtor Blog broke news of the listing, which is held by Jeff Dewing of Coldwell Banker Burnet.

Allen signed the contract with the Bears after playing with the Minnesota Vikings for six years. After his contract expired last year, Allen was a well publicized free agent. However, in March he accepted a four-year, $32 million deal with the Bears.

"I'm excited," Allen wrote in a text message to USA TODAY Sports.

"I have been blessed to play for some amazing franchises and the Good Lord has blessed me again."

Chicago Bears was more than happy to have him too.

"We're very happy for Jared, his wife Amy and the Bears, and we're really excited to have him in Chicago. We're looking forward to it. Getting someone of Jared's talents, this is a big move," said George McCaskey, Bears chairman to USA Today.

Chicago Bears' official twitter account recently posted photos of Allen in the Bears uniform for the first time:

Now that Allen is done with the Vikings, he is packing up. The listed residence is a multi-wing, single-family home spanning an area of 8,600 square feet. The house has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a wine and coffee bar, a reading alcove and a library, all done up in hardwood and stone-tiled flooring, large glass doors and windows with vaulted ceilings.

Outside the home offers manicured lawns and a stone driveway. There is ample parking space too.
