"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" is only months away from its premiere on the big screens and while fans are excitedly waiting for the sequel, Theo James revealed his thoughts on doing intimate scenes with Shailene Woodley. What does he think about romance rumors surrounding their relationship?
Theo James and Shailene Woodley have a palpable chemistry onscreen and behind-the-scenes, so much that several fans began to wonder if there is a romantic relationship going on between the two. While much of the success of the movie adaptation of Veronica Roth's "Divergent" series is attributed to its storyline set on a dystopian world, part of the success is due to its lead characters' chemistry.
Shailene Woodley and Theo James have been plagued by countless dating rumors since they starred in the first "Divergent" movie together as Beatrice 'Tris' Prior and Tobias 'Four' Eaton, respectively. In an interview with Dazed Digital, James admitted that it is this chemistry with Woodley, which makes filming intimate scenes easy and fun.
"It was easy, to be honest," said James of his first ever kissing scene with Woodley. "I've said this before: I think sometimes you have make stuff happen chemistry-wise. You have to force it. But when you don't and it's very real and natural, that makes for the best scenes and also the most fun because if you have natural chemistry you can have fun and you can build on that."
The 30-year-old actor revealed that he did not feel nervous doing any intimate scenes with the 24-year-old actress, as they both have moved past the awkward stage. Meanwhile, fans will have to brace themselves for more passionate scenes between James and Woodley in the upcoming "Allegiant" movie.
The first trailer for "Divergent: Allegiant" was released in November, which showed a sneak peek of The Bureau of Genetic Welfare, MTV News reported. According to the outlet, Tris, Four and the others will be entering the Bureau in hopes of saving the world they live in and finding more answers about themselves.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" opens in theatres on March 18, 2016.
