Microsoft has announced last Tuesday that they are looking for innovative people to pitch in ideas for a HoloLens app through a new website.
In its promotional video, Microsoft reveals that they have a device that makes interaction with holograms in the real world possible. This is in the form of Microsoft HoloLens which is said to be 'the first fully untethered holographic computer' that would pave the way for high-definition holograms.
The website allows anyone to share their ideas for a HoloLens application until January 11, 2016. The multinational technology giant promises to walk you through the concept building, sharing their feedback so the ideas could be enriched further with the help of the Microsoft community.
The development team will then assess the suggestions and the 3 most feasible proposals will be posted on Twitter. Netizens may vote which one should be developed by Microsoft, and the company's team of designers, artists and developer geniuses will work on the winning proposal.
The ideas are made public, so people could give feedback and comments. They may also 'favorite,' tweet or share them on Facebook. This way, the people who pitched their suggestions would be able to refine their details and specifications.
Since its opening last Tuesday, Microsoft has received more than 500 ideas, and they categorized these based on their functions. There are applications for Business, Education, Games, Sports, and so on. The most popular so far are applications for games. Currently, the proposal with the most number of 'favorites' or 'likes' is the 'League of Legends Match Viewer.' The proponent suggests that it would be great to watch matches of the 'League of Legends' without the use of a computer screen. According to 'FadedTitan,' it would be so convenient to watch matches in the middle of their home without watching from a screen. It could show the entire game in real time, with access to the entire Rift.
There is still enough time to pitch your own. After all, Microsoft says, "We believe the most incredible HoloLens apps will come out of ideas you imagine together."
