The "Girls" have grown up.
The HBO television series' trailer for its upcoming season 5 has been released and it has opened a new world to the "Girls" who aren't girls anymore but actually braving the life of adults.
Heavily made-up and seemingly highly doubtful bride, Marnie (Allison Williams) wears a wedding gown for her coming wedding to Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the band mate with whom she commenced a relationship while he was already in a relationship, Entertainment Weekly shares on it's take on the trailer of the show's season 5. Look how commonly complicated is that.
There's also Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Elijah (Andrew Rannells) making out in front of Fran (Jake Lacy), who was very uncomfortable indeed, followed by some sweet moments between Hannah and Fran.
As for the maturity and growing up of the "Girls", Screencrush reports that the show's creator, Lena Dunham, shared with them before "not to expect the twenty-something shenanigans of Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshannah to endure forever."
With the released of the first trailer, it does mean that growing up has come and it was signaled by the upcoming nuptials.
To date, Screencrush continues, too little is known about the show although it is to be expected that the characters will pick up where it left off. It can be remembered that there was a time jump wherein Hannah turned down Adam's renewed interest. "Elementary" mainstay Lucy Liu was also seen, playing as herself opposite Adam Driver's character.
HBO will surely reveal more teasers before the season premiere next year that would give fans a better insight on what to expect on the show.
"Girls" season 5 premieres Feb. 21, 2016 on HBO.
