Australian Gov't Denies Chris Brown Entry Due To Rihanna Assault; Australia-New Zealand Leg Of 'X' Tour Cancelled

Australian and New Zealander fans of Chris Brown were left disappointed after he was denied from entering Australia and New Zealand for his "X" Tour.

Australian officials were very vocal about not granting him entry as he was involved with a very sensitive case filed against Rihanna years back. TMZ reports that the Australian government wasn't so keen on letting him perform in the land down-under, and even the Prime Minister pitched in to share his disapproval of the "Loyal" singer.

Despite Brown's camp's efforts of appealing to the government, his Australia and New Zealand legs won't be pushed through. His camp has promised his fans that they'll be rescheduling, the source reports that they shouldn't trust on it -- as Australian officials are more than firm with their first decision. Brown will always be reminded of that horrible thing he inflicted on the "BBHMM" artist as it still affects him up to this day.

Billboard reports that the Australian government already announced that he's not welcome in their land back in September. He was set to have shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland from the 9th of December to the 16th, and fortunately for fans, the organizers will grant full refunds for everyone who has bought their tickets already. Brown's camp released a statement saying that they are deeply sorry for the situation, and that the artist is grateful for his fans' support despite the cancellation.

His Daily Show appearance was affected as well due to the Rihanna case. According to Jezebel, staff of the Trevor Noah-led show were iffy in inviting the RNB singer on their show not only for being involved in the Rihanna case, but also for his other misdemeanors in the past like a hit-and-run incident and a violent tantrum on Good Morning America. Trevor Noah allegedly planned to ask the artist about domestic violence, as he had experience in it as well from his father. Comedian Nick Cannon replaced him immediately.

In 2009, Brown, who was then 20, faced charges of assaulting his pop star girlfriend, Rihanna, after an argument.

Under terms of the agreement, Brown had to serve five years of probation and must serve 180 days in jail or the equivalent -- about 1,400 hours -- in "labor-oriented service." He also had to undergo a year-long domestic-violence counseling class.
