Amazon Fire Tablet's New Feature 'Blue Shade' Benefit Night Readers

Attention bookworms!

Amazon's new fire tablet feature will give you another excuse to read late at night. Amazon recently made a first major update for Fire OS 5 by bringing 'Blue Shade', a new brand feature that allows readers to continue reading at night.

Blue Shade provides the opportunity for readers to change the display color and brightness of their Fire tablet for optimal nighttime reading. 'Blue Shade' turns down the blue light on in the tablet screens, making it more comfortable for readers to read at night. In layman's terms, it is similar to night modes for phones.

According to Scientific American, the blue light which is emitted by the devices' screens at night wreaks havoc on the person's sleeping habits.

How does it work?

Amazon said that users can tweak the Blue Shade color setting in their tablet and lets them read at an "ultra - low" brightness level. The Blue Shade feature is almost similar to Flux, a popular that helps users change the displays of their computers and iOS devices to match to the color of their rooms.

Moreover, the new feature is using specialized filters that limit the exposure of blue light. Aside from its ability to adjust the display brightness, Blue Shade also offers warm color filters for comfortable night time reading.

With a single tap on the setting, Blue Shade can be easily turned off. Like Flux app, users can fine-tune the color setting that matches their personal preference. The update has rolled out to Fire HD 10, Fire HD8, and Fire tablets and is expected to complete within the next two weeks.
