‘Dead or Alive Xtreme 3’ Release Date: Koei Tecmo Confirms Game Will Be Released For Japan And Asia Only, Western Release Unlikely

Game publisher Koei Tecmo has announced on Thursday that its most anticipated game "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" remains to be in development. The company has issued an official statement in response to the comments made by an employee of the company about the game, a report from IGN said.

Koei Tecmo explained that the comments posted by its employee on the "Dead or Alive" Facebook page should not in any way be construed as the official statement of the company.

"The comments recently made by an employee regarding Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 on the official Dead or Alive Facebook page only reflect that individual's opinion and not the opinion or business strategy of Koei Tecmo Games. We remain focused on delivering the best in fighting entertainment to our fans around the world, while consciously respecting and strategizing to support the different global audiences the Dead or Alive franchise lends itself to," a company representative told IGN.

The company representative stressed that "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" will be released exclusively in Japan and Asia only. It can be recalled that earlier this month, a Koei Tecmo employee answered a question on the company's official Facebook page regarding the Western release of the game.

"We do not [sic] bring DoAX3 to the West and won't have any plan change [sic] in the future. Thank you for asking. Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female [sic] in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you," the employee replied, as quoted in the report.

"The official statement by KT doesn't exactly invalidate what was said on the Dead or Alive Facebook page with regards to the reason the game isn't coming to Europe or North America. The fact that KT is 'consciously respecting' the different types of global audiences can be seen as them indeed not wanting to deal with any possible backlash that Xtreme 3 could incur from certain individuals and publications in the West," Geek reports.
