"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 could see the end of April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson's (Jesse Williams) marriage as well as Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex's (Justin Chambers) relationship.
According to Inquisitr, April and Jackson's marriage had been on the rocks for the entire duration of Season 12. More recently, Jackson told April that he wants to get a divorce, but the latter tried to talk him out of it. Even after they had breakup sex, Jackson still remained true to his desire to end his marriage with April.
Another couple that may be on the brink of divorce is Jo and Alex. The former told the latter that she feels uncomfortable with his close relationship with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). After breaking up with him, Alex asked Jo to marry him. Unfortunately, she was unable to give her an answer.
Fans now believe that there is an even bigger chance that Jo would stick to her initial decision, which is to breakup with her long-time boyfriend.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Luddington said that an engagement storyline wasn't really in the plan for her and Alex's character. The actress believes that this only happened because fans wanted to see how Alex would step up his game to prove that he's invested in his relationship with Jo.
"I think Jo and Alex are moving in very similar pace within their relationship. I don't think Jo is wanting to have kids immediately; she's not expecting to get a ring," she said.
Luddington previously said that she believes Jo will say yes to Alex, but anything could still happen on a show such as "Grey's Anatomy."
"If it happens at this point, I'm sure she would say yes because obviously she's crazy about him. I don't think there's pressure there, but who knows!" she said.
"Grey's Anatomy" will premiere on Feb. 11, 2016 on ABC.
