"Quantico" is reportedly in danger of being axed after airing just nine episodes for the first half of Season 1.
According to Zap2It's TV by the Numbers, the Priyanka Chopra starrer had relatively high ratings during the first few episodes of the show. However, as the season progressed and more episodes aired, the ABC series started losing some of its loyal viewers.
As of Nov. 29, the series had a total of 1.5 rating among audiences between 18 and 49 years old. The publication also revealed that the series' six-episode additional order has been increased to nine episodes for the second half of Season 1. This will give the new show a total of 22 episodes for the entire season.
"Based solely on its ratings decline as of late, 'Quantico' is not in a great spot. But nonetheless, it remains in a pretty good position for a renewal," the publication noted.
Meanwhile, "Quantico" Season 1 had an impressive delayed-viewing growth. According to The Wrap, the show may not be doing as well as it once did during its live airings, but fans watch the show during the live-plus-seven day duration. In fact, "Quantico" became the most popular show in the delayed viewing category.
"The episode jumped 138 percent in one-week delayed viewing, topping the prior seasonal record claimed by the same series two weeks earlier. And the Nov. 8 episode of 'Quantico' is actually sitting in third place - per our below ranker - with 131 percent L7 growth," the publication noted.
In other news, the publication said that this report shouldn't come as a shock to fans because "Quantico" is perhaps just one of the few other shows that air on Sunday nights. Since there is less competition, it is highly likely that the series will receive impressive ratings.
"Quantico" Season 1 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
