If you can spare $38.5 million, consider buying the majestic spread which was once the "Winter White House" or the vacation pad of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy and his family.
The residence located in Palm Beach, Florida, was sold off by the Kennedy family in 1995 for $4.95 million. It was sold to John K. Castle - a private equity investor who fell in love with the place at first sight. Although the residence was hardly in good shape, he envisioned the luxurious residence in all its grandeur and history and renovated it to its current glory.
"Basically, what I saw was a house that needed a huge amount of work, but it was on a fantastic piece of property with enormous history," Castle wrote on his website.
"I think it's a national sanctuary. I draw inspiration from the home and the history it evokes. I can imagine the President on the back patio, in a chair, listening to the waves lapping onto the beach. I can even imagine JFK thinking deeply about the country and the world. I think this house might have been very important to this President in coming up with the strategic direction of this nation. He had a notion for where the country should go and his vision was certainly more vivid than any President since him."
According to Curbed, JFK's father Joseph P. Kennedy purchased the home for $120,000 in 1933. The Kennedy family would visit the home during occasions like Easter, Spring Break and Christmas. Over the years, the family added an extra wing and a swimming pool to the mansion. However, when JFK grew up, he and wife Jackie would rent a nearby house for visits.
The listing of the residence lies with Linda R. Olsson Inc. It is a 15,347 square feet, single-family house, comprising of 11 bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms and three half bathrooms.
Interiors feature hardwood flooring, mixed ceilings and large glass doors and windows. Outside, the house has a swimming pool and manicured gardens. The property also offers stunning water-front views.

President Kennedy's Virginia vacation home is also on the market. Listed for $7.95 million, the 5,060 square feet house sits on a large 167-acre lot complete with a lake and underground bomb shelter.
Meanwhile, Caroline Kennedy - daughter of the slain president - listed a two-parcel lot in the resort island of Martha's Vineyard, off the coast of Massachusetts, for $45 million in May 2013.
