A New York City triplex condo, once owned by ABC Carpet & Home founder Evan Cole, has been sold for $13.07 million.
The New York Post broke the news of the sale. The apartment at 15 Central Park West, one of the most expensive addresses of the Big Apple, once belonged to Cole. He sold it for $9.15 million to an investment banker years ago.
The home hit the listing market for $14.9 million last year. In March, The Real Deal reported the residence had been sold for $13.9 million. Looks like the buyer snagged the place at a discount!
The home was listed with Noel Berk and Liz Mercedes. Listing records reveal that the condo unit is a 2,512 square feet residence comprising of three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and three half bathrooms.
The listing description of the residence reads:
"It is situated on the northwest corner of the 15th floor with partial Central Park views. The gracious foyer with Venetian plaster walls leads to the expansive living room with large windows offering dynamic city views of Lincoln Center. This generous space and the adjacent formal dining room, both bathed in natural light, are perfect for entertaining. The windowed, marble-clad, eat-in kitchen has the finest appliances including double wall ovens."
Building amenities include luxury facilities like "A 75-feet lap pool with private swim instructors" and "Full catering in the entertainment spaces, restaurant, garden, and conference rooms."
Other amenities like a gym with personal trainers, a game/billiards area, a children's room and theater are also available.
The building boasts of several A-list inhabitants like Denzel Washington. Kelsey Grammer and baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez also rented in the building.
According to the Daily Mail, which cites Michael Gross' book "House of Outrageous Fortune: Fifteen Central Park West, the World's Most Powerful Address," it was at this place that Camille Grammer, Kelsey's wife found out that he was having an affair with a woman 27 years his junior. Also, A-Rod regularly brought in hookers to the building. He was still dating Cameron Diaz at that time!
