Months ago, Lana Del Rey packed up her things and moved to Malibu to get away from the spotlight. Just when she thought she can finally enjoy some seclusion, an infatuated fan invaded her Malibu home. Fortunately, the 19-year-old was caught and arrested by law enforcement authorities.
Sources from the law enforcement disclosed that the fan was camped out in the garage area of the artist's home before he was discovered by a construction worker. The construction reporter immediately reported him to the authorities but the said intruder was already gone when police arrived at the scene.
In their investigation, the detectives discovered that the intruder was a crazed fan of Del Rey. "Based on the ramblings on his notes, he was clearly infatuated with Lana," a Malibu/Lost Hills detective explained. The police also added that the intruder believed he shared a "spiritual connection with the 30-year-old artist.
Del Rey wasn't harmed by the intruder because she wasn't home. However, the intruder was booked for felony burglary because he allegedly stole one of her books. He was tracked down Tuesday afternoon in Santa Monica and according to the sources, he refused to cooperate with the police.
Del Rey previously lived in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. Because her former home was quite accessible, she often found herself dealing with fans creeping up on her personal space. To avoid breaches in her privacy, she bought a Malibu pad worth $3 million.
According to real estate sources, Del Rey's new residence is a beach front home with a square area of 2,860 square feet. Her new home has three bedrooms and four baths. Likewise, the property is surrounded by rocks which means that the artist doesn't have any neighbors living close by.
Recently, Del Rey shot the video for her song "High By the Sea" in Malibu.
