"Outlander" Season 2 is getting closer and closer to its return to the small screens, as Starz recently released a short teaser for the show's upcoming season on its YouTube account. The clip barely ran for a minute, but it was surely enough to keep fans excited to see what else is in store for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) next season.
The upcoming season of "Outlander" will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second book titled "Dragonfly in Amber," which will show Jamie and Claire travel all the way to France to meet Bonnie Prince Charlie and attempt to change the course of history. The short teaser showed that Jamie and Claire will go through extreme measures in order to keep their loved ones back home safe and save their future.
"We have been lying to everyone," says Jamie. "You have to remember what's at stake," Claire tells him, as the teaser shows Jamie touching Claire's growing belly.
While Jamie and Claire will be facing a different kind of environment in "Outlander" Season 2, Sam Heughan recently talked about his character and how Jamie changed because of love. In an interview with Gold Derby, Heughan described Jamie as a "young man who has no responsibilities" before he met Claire. This, however, changed when Claire entered his life and he fell in love with her.
The Scottish actor also shared that Jamie and Claire will be going through some tough challenges in Season 2, as they try to save the existence of the Highland culture.
"They're on this mission, but they still have a lot to deal with. Jamie has the trauma he is still dealing with, and Claire is now pregnant," he said.
"Outlander" Season 2 premieres on March 2016 on Starz.
