Kim Kardashian, of the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" fame, and her rapper husband Kanye West have chosen Ireland as their honeymoon destination. Several tabloids are reporting that the newlyweds arrived at the Emerald Isle Sunday and plan on spending five leisure days in the area.
According to the Irish Independent, Kim and Kanye were spotted landing their private jet in Cork Airport at 3 pm Sunday. They were flanked by their bodyguards. They quickly boarded their limousines that came to receive them and drove away.
Rumors have it that the couple are staying at the luxurious Castlemartyr Resort, a five-star hotel that is just minutes away from Cork. Spread over an area of 200 acres, the resort is laden with several extravagant amenities like a fitness studio, a designer golf course, four restaurants and a treatment spa as well.
Hotel officials said they could not comment on whether "Kimye" were staying at the resort.
Fans of the couple were on a guessing spree with many speculating that the couple would choose Bali as their honeymoon destination. Many were taken by surprise when Kimye chose to head over to Ireland. The couple will reportedly be spending a day in Dublin too.
Kimye chose Ireland for several reasons:
- Kim's parents Bruce and Kris Jenner honeymooned in Ireland after their 1991 wedding
- According to Kanye, they conceived their daughter "North West" in Ireland.
The "Kimye" wedding has perhaps been the most talked-about marriage ceremony of tinsel town this year. The couple had a private-yet-lavish wedding at the Renaissance Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, Saturday evening.
The wedding extravaganza took off Friday with designer Valentino hosting a brunch in Paris. Kim posted a picture of the brunch venue on Instagram. There were some lights in the sky, which Kim thought were angels!
"Little angels in the sky blessing us #TheyDidntShowUpInAnyoneElsesPicture #Valentino," she captioned the photo:
Later in the evening the guests were invited to the Palace of Versailles and treated to a surprise performance by "Born to Die" hitmaker Lana Del Rey, reports CNN. Kimye reportedly flew their guests to Florence for the wedding later on.
The wedding was an emotional affair. Guests broke into applause twice - when the couple was presented and when they kissed. Kanye reportedly gave a 15-minute speech about how much he loves Kim and was almost on the verge of tears while exchanging vows, reports Hollywood Life.
This is Kim's third wedding and the first for Kanye. In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Kim said she and Kanye were meant to be together, even when they were with others.
"I think we've always had an attraction for each other, but we've always been in either other relationships or it just wasn't the right timing. One day, I don't know, it just happened. It kind of like took me by surprise even."
