'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2 Begins Filming; Shots Will Be Taken Where 'Titanic' Was Filmed

"Fear The Walking Dead," on a league of it's own, despite the existence of its companion series, "The Waking Dead," the number one show on television among adults 18-49, has begun filming for it's second season in Baja Mexico at the Baja Studios, AMC announces.

The shoot will be in the same place constructed for Cameron's 1997's Oscar winner, Titanic. It's on the massive Baja water tank. Baja Studios' has a combined 20 million gallon tank that was initially built in 1996 by 20th Century Fox, according to Entertainment Weekly. It is also the same place "Master and Commander" was shot.

"Fear The Walking Dead," Comic Book, reports, recorded the the highest-rated freshman season of any tv series in cable history among overall followers and all key demos in live+3 ratings. As it's first season, it will still be executive produced by showrunner Dave Erickson, together with Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert.

Erickson said, "We are thrilled to be starting production and even more thrilled to be shooting in Mexico. Baja Studios has been home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years and provides all the creative resources we need to begin this new chapter in the Fear saga. We couldn't be happier."

The second season will be composed of 15 episodes and will return on television by spring 2016.

It can be recalled that the first season ended with Madison (Kim Dickens), Travis (Cliff Curtis) and their family taking refuge in Strand's (Colman Domingo) gated estate with the view of the Pacific Ocean. As civil unrest still happening and the dead taking over Los Angeles, Strand prepares to take flight to "Abigail," through his large yacht.

The hit TV show stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris and Colman Domingo as Strand.
