Adam Lambert finally settles in Hollywood Hills for $2.99 million

Adam Lambert, the "American Idol" alum who played "Eliot Gilbert" on the superhit musical series "Glee", has reportedly dropped $2.99 million on a home in the prestigious Hollywood Hills area.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Lambert was represented by Brad Downs of Rodeo Realty. Jeff Yarbrough and Chris Jacobs of Keller Williams were the listing agents of the property.

Earlier this year, several tabloids reported that Lambert was home-hunting in the Hollywood Hills area. He was reportedly seen touring Sunset Strip with his real estate agent mom, Leila Lambert. Adam was renting a home in the West Hollywood area, which appeared up on the open-rental market later.

Lambert was spotted checking out a $2.4 million "hillside retreat." The privately gated residence spans an area of 3,400 square feet. The single-family home comprises of four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Pictures of the house show plush interiors with hardwood flooring, mixed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering panoramic views of the city.

However, Lambert's brand new purchase is a 3,800-square feet single-family house that has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. The home was built in 1947 and has been upgraded to include all modern amenities over the years. Some of the house's exclusive features include a large chef's kitchen, a fireplace in the master suite, a den, a temperature-controlled wine cellar and a theater. A gym also exists on the property.

Outside, the residence has a grotto spa and a fern-lined garden. There is ample parking space too.

Lambert was the runner-up of the eighth season of the reality show, American Idol. According to Forbes' annual report, of the Top 10 most money-making 'Idol' alums, Lambert is the third most cash-minting musician from the house of "Idols." He made about $5 million in 2013.

Billboard is reporting that Lambert won't be able to enjoy the comfort of his new home because he will soon be embarking on his tour with "Queen," the English rock band, starting June 19.

Lambert stepped into the shoes of late frontman Freddie Mercury in 2012. In a recent press conference announcing the tour, Lambert spoke of the deceased rock star and performing with the band. He said:

"He's a big idol for me and I thought to myself, you know, I hope that the fans dig this. And it felt really good. The reception was warm. The reaction to it the first time was very warm. It's a treat for me to get on stage and pay my respects and to pay tribute to one of my favorite singers ever."

Drummer Roger Taylor said Mercury would totally approve of Lambert if he were around.

"Adam Lambert is an independent artist. It fits us perfectly, because he is so theatrical, a true diva. Freddie would love him," Taylor said after noting that nobody could replace Freddie Mercury.
