Jim Buss, Los Angeles Lakers' vice president, is selling his unfinished residence located at Dana Point for $5.995 million, a report from Los Angeles Times said on Friday.
According to the report, Buss' oceanfront real estate property is slated to be completed next year. The whole property sits on a "little more than a quarter of an acre in the Strand at Headlands, a gated beachfront community." The property is being handled by Kindy Slagle of HOM Sotheby's International Realty.
"The Spanish-style residence will have four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in more than 4,500 square feet. Other planned areas include a center-island kitchen, formal living and dining rooms, a media room and a great room with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace. An attached garage will accommodate as many as four vehicles. Buss acquired the property along with three other lots at the Strand two years ago for a combined $13.5 million," the report said.
It was said that Buss had sold another ocean-view residence located in Dana Point's Monarch Beach for $3.7 million. He also bought another property at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Los Angeles, which is a 4,299-square-foot penthouse, for $4.05 million.
Aside from being the Los Angeles Lakers' executive vice president of basketball operations, Buss is also the part-owner of the basketball team. He is the son of Dr. Jerry Buss, who is an American entrepreneur and originally the owner of the sports team.
"Jim, conversely, prefers to handle his duties as executive VP player personnel from home. Jim has adopted his father's style, with jeans and a black baseball cap his trademarks. Ask someone in the NBA about Jim, and he or she probably will say they don't really know him. But the media and fans see Jim as being in charge of the team -- the only part of the Lakers organization that matters to them," Hollywood Reporter said.
