iPhone 6c Release Date & Colors: Apple Concepts Show 4-inch Colored Phones, Will Be Available By Spring 2016

Rumor has it that tech giant Apple is planning to release a new version of the iPhone 6c. The news comes after KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the Cupertino-based company will release a mini version of the iPhone 6, a report from iDigital Times said on Friday.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a popular phone tipster, has confirmed that Apple's  iPhone 6c is a 4-inch version of the two recently released flagship smartphones of the company: the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

"The iPhone 6c will be taking a page from the iPhone 5c's book and will be available in multiple colors as well, but will not have plastic casing as the iPhone 5c did. Instead, it will be a metal carriage casing similar to the ones currently being used in the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or the iPhone 5s. The camera in the iPhone 6c will not be receiving the same upgrade as the camera in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus did. It will remain the same 8-megapixels for the rear-facing camera that the iPhone 5s had, and the same 1.2-megapixels for the front-facing camera," the report said.

iDownload Blog reports that that Apple's iPhone 6c will be marketed as an entry-level handset which will be sold between $400 and $500 in the U.S. It was said that the phone will not feature a 3D Touch and Touch ID which is a feature exclusively for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

"The new iPhone 6c should begin shipping in early 2016, possibly in the March or April timeframe. This earlier launch could provide momentum for iPhone suppliers that typically experience a slow season during those months. It is expected that Apple  will ship 20 million units of the iPhone 6c during the 2016 calendar year, accounting for about eight to nine percent of total iPhone sales," Best iPhone Apps said.
