'The Divergent Series: Allegiant' Star Theo James Hints Split From Ruth Kearney, Says They Won't Celebrate Christmas Together

"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" star Theo James may have just hinted his relationship status with girlfriend Ruth Kearney.

Throughout the past couple of months, there have been rumors that James and Kearney's relationship hasn't been doing well. There were also some rumors that James' "Insurgent" co-star Shailene Woodley had something to do with the actor and his girlfriend's failed relationship.

Meanwhile, in an interview with US Magazine, James said that he will go back to his hometown England for the holidays. The actor added that he will be spending Christmas with his entire family, but there was no mention of Kearney during the conversation. Fans can't help but speculate that James and Kearney wouldn't be seeing each other throughout the duration of the holiday season.

"Probably in England with family. We have a big family, so we're all there with everyone's kids. It's a fun time, a relaxing time - it's very much an old-school Christmas," he said.

James also said that their traditional family typically celebrates the holidays with their closest friends. Even then, the actor didn't mention his girlfriend.

"It's all about family and friends being together in a familiar environment. But sometimes it's nice to go out for a drink or for a long walk," he said.

In other news, KPopStarz revealed that Woodley spent Thanksgiving with her boyfriend Nahko Bear. The publication noted that the actress didn't get to spend the special occasion with her co-star James but definitely realized how much she missed him.

Ever since the filming for "Allegiant" wrapped up a few weeks ago, James and Woodley never had the chance to spend time together. Both of them are spending time with friends and family but will soon reunite when they go on a press tour for their upcoming movie.

"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Mar. 18, 2016.
