'Detective Conan' Spoilers, News: Movie Title and Artwork Revealed

As "Detective Conan" anime franchise marks its 20th anniversary, more details about its upcoming film are revealed to the delight of the fans.

The film is the 20th movie of "Detective Conan," also known by the title "Case Closed." Although the promotional trailer was released first prior to revealing the title, the official website has already unveiled that the new feature-length film will be titled, "Detective Conan: The Pure Black Nightmare" (Meitantei Conan Junkoku no Nightmare), RocketNews24 reported.

Aside from the movie title, new artwork was also released to tease about the movie. The original illustration by series creator Gosho Aoyama was posted on Detective Conan movie official website where teasers and news about the film are being added from time to time.

The illustration shows some familiar characters from the police, FBI and the villain of the movie from the "Black Organization." Conan was seen at the center of the illustration riding a horse. The movie will focus on Conan dealing with the evil organization.

The site also shared a message saying, “The new movie has very “black” story, but what color you feel like after watching it is totally up to you.” The lines will surely make fans feel more excited to see the show that are now very keen to see it on theaters. No wonder why the excitement has been felt on the Japanese internet.

The "Detective Conan" film will be released on April 16, 2016 which is seen on the top page of the site. It also featured a photo of confident-looking Conan with a caption that reads: “The door to the sanctuary will be opened" which may signify that the release of the film.

A promotional video for the film was released last month introducing the characters and another 30-second trailer will be launched on Dec. 12 so fans can get more glimpse of the upcoming movie.

"Detective Conan" is a long time Japanese detective series that also has a manga serial in Weekly Shonen Sunday that has been going since 1994.
