NFL All-Pro linebacker Nick Barnett has bought a home in Carlsbad, CA for $1.9 million.
The modern-style home, located in a gated community in the La Costa area of Carlsbad, was built in 2001. The two-storey property, spread on a 6,053 square feet area, comes with an attached guest house.
The residence in Southern California features six-bedroom, six-bathroom, a master suite, gym, library, sun room and den. The exteriors of the half-acre estate boasts of three fireplaces, a pool and a six-car garage and comes with spectacular views of La Costa Golf Course, canyons and the Pacific Ocean, Realtor reports.
The listing agent is Steven Lincoln of Lincoln Realty Group.
After tasting his success in the realty market, Barnett now needs to prove his metal in the league.
The 32-year-old native of Barstow played 15 games for the Washington Redskins last season before being placed on the injured reserve list. He tore his MCL during the team's loss to the Dallas Cowboys in December 2013. As a result, the Redskins promoted linebacker Will Compton from the practice squad to the active roster, National Football Post reports.
As a special teamer and a reserve linebacker, Barnett finished the season with 12 tackles, NBC Sports reports.
The Redskins signed Barnett after second-year linebacker Keenan Robinson suffered a torn pectoral muscle.
"... for me it's do whatever I can to help this defense and this team...... I like to play football and this is where I'm at and I'll continue to grind and increase my role and try to have fun out there," Barnett said, ESPN reports.
Since the linebacker signed only a one-year contract with the Redskins, he is once again available in the open market, Rotoworld reports. Experts believe that his off season arthroscopic knee surgery in 2013 and the recent MCL tear might cause hindrance in free agency.
The linebacker was drafted in the first round of 2003 by the Green Bay Packers, where he played eight seasons and won a Super Bowl in 2011. Barnett also had a stint with Buffalo Bills where he had consecutive 100-tackle seasons in 32 games in 2011 and 2012.
Barnett's 11-year NFL career includes 1,041 combined tackles, 20.5 sacks, seven fumble recoveries and 12 interceptions, SB Nation reports.
