Moto X Pure Edition 2015 News: Android 6.0 Marshmallow Rolling Out Before 2015 Ends, "Soak Test" is On!

Moto X owners will be a part of the soak test that Motorola is currently conducting. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be for the third Gen of Moto X, released in 2015. The announcement was made via Google+ by Motorola's Mobility Senior Director, David Shuster.

Motorola's Android operating system contains very minimal add-ons and features. They do not put too much-skinned interface like the other smartphone manufacturers. Hence, they are known in the industry to have the quickest roll out period for the new Android OS. If this soak test will produce good results, then every Moto X 2015 user might have the Marshmallow before the year ends, ZDNet reported.

"I'm pleased to announce that today we are starting the soak test period of Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) in the US. We will monitor the soak for next week and with good results, proceed to full launch," Shuster stated.

Moto X Chosen users are advised to be connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection first before proceeding to download the approximately 650MB update. Battery charge must also be at least 50 percent charged. These reminders are very important to avoid any issues during the update process.

The Moto X Pure Edition 2015 3rd generation is a 5.7-inch phone with an IPS LCD touchscreen capable of displaying a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. It is pegged at 520 ppi pixel density. A Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the smartphone. It also came with an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, GSM Arena reported.

Moto X Pure Edition 2015 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3GB of RAM. Internal memory comes in three variants, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It also comes with a MicroSD card slot that can give an additional storage capacity of 128GB max. A 21MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing camera are among its features.
