Jakob Dylan sells Malibu residence for $7.37 million

Jakob Dylan, frontman of the band - "The Wallflowers" - who also happens to be rocker Bob Dylan's son, has reportedly sold his Malibu residence for $7.37 million.

The Real Estalker broke the news of the sale. Jakob and his wife Paige Dylan purchased the home sometime in 2011 for $3.98 million. They then hired architect Doug Burdge to give the place a complete makeover.

They listed the place with Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker Malibu, the same agent that represented Jakob in other Malibu property transactions.

According to AOL Real Estate, Jakob and Paige sold a Malibu pad in 2011 for $3.57 million. That residence had come up on the market for $4.45 million but received a price chop later, listing it at $4.1 million. It eventually sold for a lower price.

The Real Estalker notes that the couple may have more homes in Malibu. The latest home Jakob sold is a 6,380-square-feet single-family residence, sitting on a prime private lot. The compound also has two separate guest houses.

The main house reportedly has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. Interiors boast of hardwood flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows and slider doors along with high beamed ceilings.

Outside, the home has rolling greens, seating decks and a lighted tennis court. There is ample parking space as well.

Jakob also had a home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, which has a full-fledged recording studio. He sold it in 2009 for $8.22 million. He opened doors of the home to the New York Times in 2005 for an interview on his band and his dad, Bob Dylan.

Speaking of his father in the interview, Jakob said:

"...he was affectionate. When I was a kid, he was a god to me for all the right reasons. Other people have put that tag on him in some otherworldly sense. I say it as any kid who admired his dad and had a great relationship with him. He never missed a single Little League game I had. He's collected every home-run ball I ever hit. And he's still affectionate to me."
