Tina Fey and Amy Poehler spoof "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in the latest promotional video for their upcoming comedy movie "Sisters."
According to Zap2It, the former Saturday Night Live (SNL) comediennes spoofed the "Making Of" video of "Star Wars," which was released during the summer.
The two started off from a serious note as they describe their overall experience on filming "Sisters."
"It could not be more exciting to see the way technology has evolved and yet keeping one foot in the pre-digital world," Poehler said.
Fey added: "It literally couldn't be more exciting if it was."
These lines from the two funny ladies sounded serious on paper but because of their antics, the output was dead-on hilarious. They also expressed their excitement in their so-called "drunk" British accents.
The spoof continues as they talked about Maya Rudolph's Chewbacca imitation and praised their director "J.Jason Moore" for his work.
Another scene-stealer in the spoof video was their co-star Maya Rudolph. Rudolph noted her "magical" experience of showcasing her inner Chewbacca.
Rudolph was seen dressing up in a gorilla suit and playing with a lightsaber to be in character. Unfortunately, Fey and Poehler didn't buy her poor version of Chewbacca's language. Ike Barinholtz, on the other hand, shared that Rudolph and their movie became a part of his "childhood."
Fey, Poehler, and their co-stars proved that they are not afraid of dealing with "legends" with their hashtag "#youcanseethemboth." It only showed how open-minded they were even if they have to share their premiere date with "Star Wars."
They ended the hilarious video with a surprising cameo of George Takei from "Star Trek" franchise. He was seen in his own Darth Vader costume while he uttered his character's iconic phrase: "Luke, I am your father." In the end, Takei playfully changed the tune as he reminded the viewers to calm down.
"Sisters" follows two different sisters, a carefree Katie (Tina Fey) and a high-strung Maura Ellis (Amy Poehler), who learned that their parents will sell their childhood home. They decided to throw one last party before they part away from it.
The cast of "Sisters" are Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo, Ike Barinholtz, John Cena, James Brolin and Dianne Wiest.
"Sisters" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit U.S. theaters on Dec. 18.
