'Super Smash Bros.': Details on Final Fantasy VII Cloud Strife DLC and Release Date and Game Creator Discussing Game Updates

In recent Nintendo Direct, Masahiro Sakurai revealed that "Final Fantasy's" Cloud Strife will be joining the party in "Super Smash Bros."

Source Gaming was kind enough to translate big morsels of the Masahiro Sakurai words from the Japanese website Weekly Famitsu. According to Source Gaming, the "Super Smash Bros." discussed the importance of updates and speaking from a gamer's perspective he says that he is "grateful for these" updates. On the other hand, from the creator's point of view, he has shared four important insights about updates.

In the said interview, Masahiro Sakurai said that modern games are complex. He also added that creators have no time to play the game they created therefore they rely on the "testing powers of the players" who have better chances of identifying bugs than the creators themselves. Most importantly Sakurai has revealed that while fixes are necessary and contents added to the game in terms of patches are voluntary. This goes to show that patches emerge from the passion of the game's creator.

To date there is still no official announcement on when Cloud Strife DLC will be released. In a previous report, the leakster who spread the alleged release date of the "Final Fantasy VII" hero via twitter has faced extreme backlash from many fans of "Super Smash Bros." and "Final Fantasy." The said Twitter post claims the release date was Dec. 3. However many believe it was fake news.

The most recent Nintendo Direct was streamed on Nov. 12, while according to Tech Buffalo, a Nintendo Direct specially dedicated to "Super Smash Bros." will be streamed this December. There is no definite date yet. Moreover, it was reported that it will be the last Nintendo Direct dedicated to that one particular game alone. Until then, any story regarding Cloud Strife's release date are merely speculations.
