In just a little over four months, FromSoftware's "Dark Soul's III" will finally be out.
According to Forbes, Bandai Namco has confirmed that "Dark Souls III" will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 12, 2016 in North America, South America and Europe. However, for the over excited gamers, four months is an awfully long time.
Publisher Bandai Namco said in a statement, "DARK SOULS III provides players with an all-new world filled with heinous enemies, hidden secrets, and captivating environments as they search to destroy the awakened Lords of Cinder and discover what has happened to this apocalyptic land."
"Dark Soul's III" will be the sequel to "Dark Soul II," which was released in March 2014. While waiting for the said sequel, fans can preoccupy themselves with the latest release from the same developer. On Nov. 24, FromSoftware released "The Old Hunters" expansion for Bloodborne that follows the tale of "legendary hunters," while set in "nightmare world where hunters from the past are trapped forever."
According to GameSpot, along with the announcement of the release date of "Dark Souls III," FromSoftware is treating fans with a sneak peek for the much awaited game. The developer has uploaded a gameplay footage on its YouTube channel (watch below).
In the meantime, prices for the Collector's and Day One editions of the game for the U.S. market have also been officially announced. Day One Edition will be available in the U.S. for $59.99 and will include the full game, Prima Starter Guide, the official soundtrack and an exclusive O-Sleeve packaging. On the other hand, The Collector's Edition will be sold at $129.99 and will include the full game, Prima Starter Guide, the official soundtrack, official art book, cloth game map, 10-inch Red Knight Statue and a collector's box.
During the 2015 Game Awards last Dec 3, FromSoftware's "Bloodborne" was nominated for Video Game of the Year Award but the title was awarded to CD Projekt Red's "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." "Dark Souls II" was nominated for the same title in the previous year but lost to Bioware's "Dragon Age: Inquisition." Will the company finally get the award in 2016 with "Dark Souls III?"
