Niall Horan’s dad turns down son's offer to buy countryside home

Niall Horan, the "One Direction" star wanted to buy his father a countryside home but his dad reportedly declined his offer saying he didn't want to live the high life, sources reveal.

According to The Mirror, Horan's dad Bobby refuses to take any gifts from his super-famous and rich son because he wants to lead a simple life.

A source told the publication:

"Niall has offered to give him money in the past but he has refused. Bobby is down to earth and is happy as it is."

"He doesn't want anything from Niall despite his huge fortune."

"Niall had offered to buy him a gorgeous house in the countryside but he just didn't want it. The high life just isn't for him."

Horan confirmed that his dad declined to take any gifts from him last year in an interview with Metro adding that he didn't want to force his dad into taking his money because he didn't want to be an "idiot who walks in and throws money around."

Bobby Horan, who works behind the butcher counter in Tesco also added that he was content with what he had and loved his job.

"I want absolutely nothing from him. I'm happy with what I've got. There's no way he'd offer me a car because I can't drive," Bobby told the publication.

Meanwhile, Horan lives in London, where singer Selena Gomez reportedly hung out in February this year. Rumors have it that Horan and Gomez are flirting via texts. Gomez was recently in London for a Katy Perry show and Horan reportedly hung out with Gomez, making her forget all the "Bieber drama" she has gone through.

"Selena and Niall have been in constant communication since going to the Katy Perry show together," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

"They text a lot and flirt via text. Selena wants to take things slow but she's totally open to the idea of seeing him again. She loves the fact that he's cool and completely drama-free, not to mention really sweet and thoughtful," the source added.

In other One Direction news, Zayn Malik recently shelled out more than $335,300 to buy a new house for his to-be mother in law, Debbie Edwards, reports Daily Mail.
