Nicki Minaj made the headlines, but this time it's because of her bother. The "Anaconda" rapper's brother, Jelani Maraj, 37, is currently facing charges for first degree rape and first degree course of sexual conduct with a child. This information was acquired from Nassau First District Court documents.
As per Huffington Post, Newsday first released the reports after Maraj was arraigned last December 3. The source then told the publication that his victim was only 12 years old. The court document then stated that the incident took place last April 1, 2015, but Jelani was arrested last December 1.
As per Daily Mail, Nicki Minaj posted bond for her brother in the amount of $100,000. Each if his charges carried a sentence of 9 to 25 years in prison if he'd be proven guilty.
Jelani married his wife, Jacqueline Robinson last August in Baldwin New York. His sister was present at the event in which she posted a photo with her brother which was captioned:
"I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man, Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile."
