After being accused of physically assaulting and choking her girlfriend in a hotel room, Nicholas Brendon -- who is most famous for his role as Xander in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' -- pleaded guilty for misdemeanor charge of mischief.
The judge at the Saratoga Springs City Court made the decision last Friday, and although he won't be dealing with jail time, they have ordered the actor to undergo a drug and alcohol counseling program and he'll also be under probation for a full year. According to E! Online, Brendon will be back in court in February next year.
The alleged physical altercation between Nicholas Brendon and the girlfriend happened back in September in New York. The police stated that the 44-year-old actor was intoxicated and drunk, and he was charged with two counts of criminal mischief, robbery, a felony, and a count of obstruction of breathing.
Brendon has been very open about his struggles with alcohol and substance abuse. Entertainment Tonight reports that on a long Facebook post written by the actor, he shares that for the second time this year, he has entered a rehabilitation center back in October. He's currently under a 90-day program, and his facility was nice enough to allow him to go to The Toulouse Game Show event in Brussels last weekend. Nicholas Brendon has been very vocal about his gratitude towards his fans in this very difficult time.
He shares in another Facebook post: "It's another beautiful day on this round floating rock we call planet earth. I'm heading back to treatment today to continue #kickingdepressionintheballsack After successfully taking care of some life business. Much much love to you all. Your stories & support are appreciated lovlies!! Updates will continue from Mrs. Nicky . Back to treatment for me! #huglife"
It's nice to see that the actor remains in good spirits despite this ordeal. Now that he is sober, he is definitely on the way back to getting his life together again.
