One Direction On Extended Hiatus: The Group Gets Emotional In Final US Concert

One Direction is officially going for an extended break and fans witnessed their favorite boy band get emotional in their final US concert.

Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan are months before they take their extended hiatus and on Friday night's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, they performed in what actually turned out to be the band's final show in the country.  A report from E! Online said.

Liam took this chance to talk to his fans on stage. The singer said, "To be honest with you, this show is kind of an important one for us." He continued, "This is going to be the last time for a little while. I feel myself getting a little emotional."

But even after this emotional revelation, the four were still able to perform in front of a sold-out crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. For 30 minutes, the band sang their most popular tunes such as "Perfect," "Drag Me Down" and "What Makes You Beautiful."

Aside from giving their best for their final performance in the states, the group also thanked their fans that have been very supportive of their career since they started in the UK.

As their performance concluded, the four sang "Story of My Life" which Liam said was the song that made their American dreams come true.

After their time on stage, One Direction held an interview backstage with iHeartRadio. The young men reiterated that this decision is for the best and that they also made it clear that they will be back performing again soon.

"But it's not our last show ever. That's the important thing the people need to get. This is just our little crescendo." Liam also said to 102.7 KIISFM.

Niall also commented, "It's not a bad way to go out, Jingle Ball you know?"

Aside from One Direction, Selena Gomez, 5 Seconds of Summer, The Weekend, Shawn Mendes and a number of popular artists also performed at the iHeartRadio concert
