Former Hollywood Hills Home of Jack Black up for Sale at $2.89 million

Former Hollywood Hills home of "School of Rock" actor Jack Black has reportedly hit the market for $2.89 million.

Black purchased the residence with his former girlfriend Laura Kightlinger. After breaking up with Kightlinger, he gave the residence a full makeover in 2005. He moved in with Haden in 2006 right after they tied the knot.

Black listed the home in 2007 and sold it for $1.21 million.

Property records show that the current owners purchased the residence in a foreclosure sale, for $641,334. The home was listed for an unknown amount in 2012 and an offer was also accepted, but the transaction didn't seem to go through.

The home was re-listed May 19, 2014.

Listing records of the home state that the residence is a 3,906-square-feet single-family home, comprising of four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. Interiors feature mixed flooring with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an open floor plan. The residence is all clad in steel and offers ample views of the hills.

Outside, the home has a private pool and garden area. Open patios and two-car parking area.

The listing description reads:

"Exceptional private architectural home made of steel, glass and concrete. This triumph is a bold statement in quality, design and construction."

Black purchased Flea's (Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Michael Balzary) Los Feliz home for $5.96 million in 2011 and now lives in the area with his family.

Black grew up in California (his rocket-scientist parents divorced when he was 10) and had a pretty wild time growing up as a teenager. In an interview with The Guardian he said:

"I was a wild and reckless teenager. So much so that I think I'm lucky to be alive."

"I got into drugs and I stole money from my mum. It was a bad time. I used to drive around the streets, the curvy Hollywood Hills like it was my personal race track, "catching air" with five kids in the car, me just screaming "Yeaaagh!" We were having fun, but there could've been a tragedy," he added.
