‘The Vampire Diaries' News: Ian Somerhalder ‘Used’ Nina Dobrev to Bring Ratings Up for the Series?

Ex-"The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev is definitely proving that she is still very much alive in all the news that is tagged with the CW hit series. Although Dobrev exited from "The Vampire Diaries" series even before the seventh season run of the show, rumors now indicate that Dobrev's ex-bf and then co-star Ian Somerhalder is using her name to fill the number ratings that the show is currently missing.

Yibada reports that Somerhalder "used" ex-gf Dobrev to boost the CW show "The Vampire Diaries" and this caused a turmoil with their fans.

"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder was recently slammed by fans for allegedly using his former co-star and ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev."

One major point that started the rumor is Somerhalder's tagging the name of Nina Dobrev's character in promoting the shows in the past.

"Ian Somerhalder isn't shy when it comes to using the memory of his relationship with Nina Dobrev and his love for her character, Elena, on 'The Vampire Diaries' to promote season 7 of TVD," according to CDL's article.

Apart from this is the issue that Somerhalder is "toying" with the idea that he is hinting messages of leaving the vampire series franchise soon to prompt viewership for the show.

"Perhaps that is why Ian is allegedly toying with the idea of leaving 'The Vampire Diaries,' but we all know Ian won't leave TVD unless he is fired or gets a major deal," based from CDL.

In line with this, news broke recently that the CW show is hitting low targets for its ratings and might be cancelled just before the end of its seventh season run.
