'The Taken King' Destiny Release Date, News, Update: New Exotics Added, Weapons Upgraded

"The Taken King" Destiny Patch 2.1.0 is confirmed for its all-new December Update which includes other changes like the new exotics, titan classes change and weapon upgrades.

"Our current plan is to deploy the latest packages to you as soon as next week. The thing about plans is that they can change, so the exact day is up to the smart people who get to push the big red button," Bungie revealed.

Aside from that December Update for the game, Bungie also added that there will be changes to Sunbreakers, Strikers and Defenders.

"About those Titans... Ever since their Solar brothers and sisters entered the explosive mix of Destiny with the arrival of The Taken King, they've been quite the hot topic of conversation. While we're making some adjustment to Sunbreakers in Update 2.1.0, we won't be leaving Strikers and Defenders out in the cold this winter," the website wrote.

Reports indicate that Patch 2.1.0 will rebalance different weapons while adding new Exotics. The patch notes preview will be drafted by senior design chief Sage Merrill. The new Exotics is exclusive to Year Two that include upgraded versions of weapons and armors from Year One.

As for the weapons, the "base damages of Auto and Fusion rifles will be beefed up, but the opposite can be said of Pulse rifles. The accuracy of hand cannons will be increased as well, but only when aiming down on targets. Lastly, shotguns will be hit with more quantities of nerf to instigate more close-quarter combat," Game Spot wrote.

The latest patch will also feature changes to Eververse microtransaction store items. Gamers who want to purchase items that are offered in the store need to purchase them prior to the update's release.

"The December Update will refresh the inventory available from Tess," Bungie stated. "She'll put the stuff you see now in some bags you can still acquire with some Silver, but their contents will be less direct and predictable."

"Destiny" is expected to be a potential successor to "Halo" which is a first-person shooting game wherein humans will encounter aliens. It has open-world elements published by Activision.

"It borrows from many well-established gaming destinations, but the climate of each is wildly different, and often incompatible," Vince Ingenito of IGN said. "It's a complex production that boils down simply to this: Destiny is a mechanically excellent, visually evocative FPS housed within an under-developed RPG framework."

"The Taken King" Destiny debuted on September 9 last year for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles.
