The self-made apparel king Peter Nygard, and financial tycoon Louis Bacon, are battling over a strip of land on Nassau in the Bahamas.
In a complaint filed by Bacon this year in the New York State Supreme Court, he demanded that a jury hear his case against Nygard. Bacon alleges that Nygard has engaged in a "systematic, reprehensible and outrageous" blurry campaign against him in the last four years.
According to the filing report as posted by the New York Post news, Nygard claimed that Bacon has murdered several people and covered up all evidence, that Bacon belongs to the KKK and is a white supremacist, that Bacon has been charged in one of the biggest insider-trading cases of all time, that Bacon is the leader of an international drug cartel, that Bacon has stock piled terrorist weapons at his Bahamas estate, and that Bacon burned down Nygard's Bahamas estate.
The battle started in 2010 when Nygard wanted to expand his estate but Bacon objected.
The two are tearing each other in ways large and small, and via complaints that culminated in Bacon's $100 million defamation suit against Nygard. Bacon had no choice but to publicly refute "a smear campaign of this magnitude and intent."
According to the article of Omnifeed, in the court documents Bacon claimed Nygard, as cited in a Canadian documentary, turned his beachfront estate into a "mini-brothel" where Nygard supposedly persuaded teenage girls to have sex with him. Allegations were covered in the documentary, where Nygard is portrayed as a draconian boss who fined house staff $25 for being late or leaving dirty glasses outside. A stewardess on his private plane also claimed that Nygard yelled at a crew member, saying, "You are nothing!" and "You are garbage! I am God! Do you not understand?" He denies the incident.
Nygard also reportedly settled three sexual-harassment suits in the 1990s, and as reported in 1980, he had also been charged in the rape of an 18-year-old girl. The charges were dropped when the girl refused to testify.
"These assertions are totally false," Nygard's representative tells The Post. "Mr. Nygard has never abused anyone."
