"South Park" takes current event seriously, so seriously that it will take on the issue of gun control for its season 19 finale.
In a short preview provided by Comedy Central for it's Wednesday episode, Eric and his mother had an argument as the former refuses to go to bed. Eric weilded the gun first, terrifying his mother, who then took out her own gun and pointed it at him.
"The citizens of South Park feel safer when armed," according to the Comedy Central preview for the episode. It is clear that it's a response of Matt Stone and Trey Parker, creators of the show, to the ongoing raging debate about Second Amendment rights of the US citizens.

PC Principal is a new character that has been introduced on the first episode of the current season and from the looks of it, the same character may also be concluded once the finale airs.
In the same eposide, the logline reads, "The gentrification of South Park is pricing Randy right out of town. Meanwhile, Kyle's distrust of Stan has broken their friendship and thrown Kyle into a dangerous alliance."
The adult animated sitcom debuted in August 1997 with huge success and still one of Comedy Central's highest rated shows. It is slated to air through at least 2019.
"South Park's" season finale, titled "PC Principal Final Justice," airs Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
