'Star Wars Battlefront' PS4, Xbox One, PC Gameplay May Not Have The Depth, EA Admits

The "Star Wars Battlefront" game developer admitted that they have disappointed their shooter fans for having lack of depth on its gameplay.

VG 24/7 mentioned that EA, the game developing team behind the "Star Wars Battlefront," said that they have made some changes in the gameplay to accommodate the younger audiences. But this move made a lot of the diehard shooter fans disappointed because the new gaming style alienated the hardcore shooter fans.

Blake Jorgenson, spokesperson of EA Games, said, "Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person shooter, but it is [one of] the only teen-rated first-person shooters. We had designed it to be a much more accessible product to a wide age group."

He added, "So, an 8-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it. It is more accessible. And for the hardcore, it may not have the depth that they wanted in the game."

GameSpot also added that what the hardcore shooter fans refer to the depth of the game is its progression system where the lack is noticeable. For them, this sounded like a shallow shooter game for kids, not really for all teenagers.

But amid the disappointments from this group, Jorgensen is expecting a huge hit from "Star Wars Battlefront" in this year. This would be a plus from the upcoming premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as well.

The same source said that EA Games is expecting around 13 million copies to sell which is higher from the previous forecasted number with 9 to 10 million copies around the globe.

"Star Wars Battlefront" is an action shooter video game developed by Electronic Arts (EA) last month [November 17, 2015]. The game can be enjoyed in different platforms such as PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
