Kobe Bryant received a touching job offer from his dad's Italian team to play for them after he leaves the NBA.
TMZ reported that the NBA superstar got himself a letter from the team of Viola Reggio Calabria. The Italian team is the same team where Kobe Bryant's dad, Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, dominated back in the late 80s [1986-1987] where he got 69 points earned in one game.
According to the report, Kobe Bryant has been "kicking around the idea of playing overseas" which is considered a plus to the team's request. They reached out to him through a touching open letter to the Mamba. The letter was attached with a photo of Kobe with his Viola shirt when he was just 8 years old.
The letter states, "The picture shows an eight-year-old boy, proud to wear the jersey with the words Viola Reggio Calabria. Unbeknownst back then, that he was destined to do great things. That eight-year-old boy was you, Kobe."
"Dear child of Reggio Calabria, fantastic Kobe, on this most beautiful stretch of land that is full of affection for you we close our eyes and dream."
"There will always be a home for you at this great club on the Straits of Messina. Our dream might be too big but maybe it is the same dream you unknowingly had as that 8-year-old boy in the picture," the letter added.
"We want you to come home, to wear our colors, to represent our city, just as your father did before you. There is a black and orange family waiting for you, with the same name on the back: 'Bryant.'"
The letter ended with an emotional line, "A warm hug, dear Kobe, our great basketball legend."
However, there is no word heard from Kobe Bryan at the moment. But he might be considering this offer since his own dad was already Reggio Calabria's former basketball star.
