'Game of Thrones': Gregor Clegane Spars With UFC's Conor McGregor

UFC interim featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, went on an impromptu sparring session with Westeros largest warrior, "The Mountain."

Gregor Clegane a character played by 6-foot-9, 400-pound Hafthor Julius Bjornsson. Bjornsson is not only strong in his "Game of Thrones" character but also in real life. Off cam, Bjornsson spends his time training and competing as an Icelandic strongman. He even broke a record that has been unmatched for more than 1000 years. He beat a 1000-year-old record set by Orm Storolfsson at the World's Strongest Viking competition in Norway, where he carried a 32 feet (9.8 m) long 1,433 pounds (650 kg) log for five steps.

On the other side, Conor McGregor has been dubbed as "The Notorious" in the UFC scene for being a great fighter that talks down to his opponents and beats them up inside the ring.

The video was taken last October and has recently gone viral due to the anticipation of McGregor's upcoming fight and the Game of Thrones anticipated new season.

The two guys were introduced by a common friend, Gunnar Nelson, who was McGregor's Icelandic teammate.

McGregor who stands 5-foot-9 and fights at 145 pounds took the challenge and sparred with Bjornsson.

This is an excerpt of McGregor's UFC 194 media lunch:

"We squared off as if we were gonna do it. Then all of a sudden, he's bouncing and I'm bouncing. Next thing you know, we're having a full, bareknuckle body shot fight."

In the video, Bjornsson will be seen playing lightly and even tried to end the crazy bout before it heats up but McGregor refuses to concede and throws body punches at the 6-foot-9 giant.

"I had to hit him with some shots. He was trying to hit me as well. He wasn't taking it easy. He tried to grab me and tried to pull my head off. I defended, freed the head," McGregor shares to the press.
