SM Entertainment has confirmed that EXO is coming to five cities in North America in February 2016 as part of the Korean boy band's "EXO PLANET #2 - The EXO'luXion" tour.
MyMusicTaste has revealed that the all-time favorite boy group will perform first in New York City on Feb. 5, then in Chicago on Feb. 7. They will head in Dallas on Feb. 10 and in Vancouver on Feb. 12. The last show will be on Feb. 14 in Los Angeles. The cities were decided based on fans votes.
The venues for the concerts are yet to be announced, as well as details of the ticketing release.
AllKpop.com notes that this will be EXO's first North American tour since their televised debut back in 2011. In the recently concluded MAMA 2015, EXO has bagged three awards -- 2015 Album of the Year, Best Male Group and Global Fan Choice Award (Male).
Meanwhile, rumors are making rounds that there were faked accounts that voted for the announced cities. According to blogger omanatheydidnt, the speculations are that MyMusicTaste made those faked accounts. Fans also get to pay a vote by purchasing one Taste for $10 per artist per city and Atlanta has reportedly spent as much as $4,000. The tastes are locked in for six months and those who were in the cities not part of the tour would get to use their tastes on something else from the site.
Another blogger azulity has revealed that a supposed insider gave the information which says that, "The first thing is that MMT's top 10 cities was rigged from the start. No matter how many votes a city got that wasn't preselected, they could not win."
"Before the tour dates were announced, a lot of industry people already knew the cities would be LA, NY, Chicago, Dallas, and 1 Canadian city [...] The top 10 cities thing was a way for MMT to make $ off fans and Atlanta was not expected to win," the source added.
