NBA Trade Rumors: The Lakers Sending Young to the Atlanta Hawks in Exchange for Tim Hardaway Jr.

Winning only 3 matches of their 21 games, the Lakers seemed to be sending a message to the NBA world. It seems like the Lakers is in the tank mode as they prepare for the next season. And with the announcement of Kobe Bryant ending his NBA career this season, it would likely suggest that the Lakers would have the capacity to acquire at least one or two players as part of their preparation next season.

Now the question is who the Lakers would trade in order to make some significant changes in their roster. According to some reports, the Lakers may actually trade Nick Young to other teams. Yibada reported that, "The Los Angeles Lakers are starting to embrace life without Kobe and that could mean trading one of the team's valuable asset, Nick Young."

The scenario may not be a shocking for some, especially that coach Byron Scott has been sitting out Young and has a plan to continue doing it for the next few games. Baxter Holmes of ESPN via social media shared that, "Byron Scott says Nick "Swaggy DNP" Young will sit for the third straight game tonight and will likely sit for next few games, too." According to some reports, the benching of Young has something to do with the comment he released expressing "about the Lakers being a "circus" due to Bryant's excessive playing time that causes LA's losses," said Yibada.

If indeed Lakers is planning to trade Young, then the trade piece should be almost if not equal to the value of Young. Eric Yee of Lake Show Life suggested that the Lakers would likely trade Young to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Tim Hardaway Jr. Yee stated that "the Lakers could possibly get back a young player, like Tim Hardaway Jr. who has been riding the bench."

And for the part of Young, the Hawks could actually cater his strength which is shooting the ball. Lakeshowlife suggested that, "Instead of the isolation heavy offense the Lakers currently run, Young could thrive running off ball, and play on a team that actually runs plays for its shooters."
