George Clooney News: 'Hail, Ceasar!', Film Featuring Clooney, To Open In Berlin Festival

"Hail, Caesar!", the latest film by the Coen Brothers featuring George Clooney, will soon open during the 66th edition of the Berlin Festival  on February 12 next  year. This is the second film following "True Grit", in 2011, that the directors have opened in Berlin.

The Oscar-Winning American Coen Brothers are expected to walk on the red carpet on February 11 in the German Capital. It's an 11-day event and is being ranked as Europe's top cinema by Cannes and Venice.

"It's wonderful that Joel and Ethan Coen are once again opening the Berlinale. Their humor, unique characters, and fantastic narrative skill are guaranteed to thrill the audience," said Festival Director Dieter Kosslick.

The award-winning siblings presented what their Cult Classic, The Big Lebowski in 1998, would become at the Berlinale. The event was considered popular and has opened the festival in 2011 together with their Western "True Grit" Remake.

According to the AFP, the movie "Hail, Caesar!" would definitely screen out of competition in the Golden Bear Top Prize event  and will be awarded by a jury on the 20th of February. The film will be released in the United States on the 5th of February.

Hail, Caesar film overview presents the day in the life story of a studio fixer, Josh Brolin together with other casts; Ralph Fiennes, Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and Channing Tatum.

George Clooney's role in the movie is described by the Coen Brothers as the third in a Numbskull Trilogy after O Brother, Where Art Thou?  and Intolerable Cruelty which was shown in 2000 and 2003.

The film, Hail, Ceasar! is produced by the Coen Brothers with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner under Mike Zoss Productions and Working Title Films. The film will be released soon next year and worldwide after the Berlinale bow.
