Janet Jackson, the "I Want You" singer - Michael Jackson's sister and the youngest of the Jackson clan - was reportedly spotted checking out the stunning penthouse atop the 40 Mercer Street building in New York City. The residence is asking $13.99 million.
The New York Post reported that the star crooner took a tour of the pad, which is being represented by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of Douglas Elliman.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Jackson was offering her Trump International Towers residence for rent asking $35,000 a month. The 1 Central Park West apartment has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. Interiors of the home feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Central Park, and a master suite complete with a walk-in closet and marble bath
However, that residence is no longer available for rent now, Streeteasy records show.
The pad that Jackson just checked out is a Jean Nouvel-designed masterpiece. Spanning a total area of 4,506 square feet (1,500-square-feet exteriors) the residence has four bedrooms and three full and one half bathroom.
The floor plan provided by Douglas Elliman shows that the entrance opens into the large living room that has large glass walls offering panoramic views of the city. The living room space is an open area that has an eat-in gourmet kitchen and ample dining space as well. There is a cozy study behind the kitchen.
To the right of the living room are the guest bedrooms and the master suite. An "L-spaed" terrace wraps around the house. There is an outdoor Jacuzzi on the terrace too.
Building amenities include 24/7 doorman and concierge services, pool and gym facilities along with dedicated parking.
The listing describes the home as:
"Truly the most exclusive address downtown and an offering unlike any other, this magnificent trophy penthouse is not to be missed."
The Building description is pretty impressive too.
"This collaboration between hotel visionary Andre Balazs and famed Pritzker Prize winning architect Jean Nouvel is an extraordinary testament to modern luxury, elegance, progressive architecture, and ingenious engineering."
