'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Spoilers & Updates: Edward Alderson Comes Back From The Dead?

USA Network's "Mr. Robot" series had a successful first season, and so there is high expectation for the Season 2.

Christian Post reported that "Mr. Robot" Season 2 has already started production and Sam Esmail, the creator of the series, has revealed some juicy details and spoilers about the plot of season 2.

Esmail shared that the show's writers have this idea of Elliot, played by Rami Malek, to deal with infamous drug lord after the death of his girlfriend Shayla who was portrayed by Frankie Shaw. It is possible that Elliot will seek for vengeance for Shayla's death which will force him to confront Fernando Vera.

Crossmap, meanwhile, shared Christian Slater's character, Edward Alderson, will possibly come back from the dead in the new season. It has been reported that Christian might reprise his role in season 2 but his appearance would only be in flashbacks.

Slater's return will come with a twist given that "Mr. Robot" is only a figment of Elliot's imagination. But Esmail revealed that "Mr. Robot will have the chance to talk to other people in Elliot's life."

Esmail shared that in season 2, issues like dating and addiction will still be part of the storylines, but he is also open for other possibilities for the plot of the upcoming season 2. According to Screen Rant, Esmail shared the vision of the show and said that "It was our intention to make this [a] show of today...that was incredibly important to us. I always say it is almost like we are making a period piece on modern society so that was all intentional, that was embedded in the writing of every script."

During Rami Malik's interview with Vulture, he teased that the upcoming sophomore season of "Mr. Robot" will be intense. He said, "I will say this, it doesn't get any easier for any one of the characters on the show - especially myself. After [Sam] pitched me this season, I called my agents and said, I don't really feel inclined to do anything between now and then. Because it's going to require a lot of energy."

Meanwhile, MStars News reported that USA Network is set to bring "Mr. Robot" Season 1 to DVD and Blu-Ray on Jan. 12.

"Mr. Robot" Season 2 is set to premiere sometime in 2016.
