Another Bollywood superstar is joining Hollywood, Deepika Padukone, and she will be with Vin Diesel in the upcoming movie “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.” Padukone is an Indian film actress and a model, and is considered to be the highest-paid celebrity in Bollywood.
Hollywood and Bollywood have joined forces for several years now, but has started to take a great leap since last year. Irrfan Khan was in “Jurassic World” and Priyanka Chopra is with the currently running television series, “Quantico.”
Padukone herself posted on Instagram a picture of herself, hugging Diesel with the actor’s back against the camera, and the “XXX” movie logo on the background. The 29-year-old Indian actress started out in Bollywood back in 2007 with “Om Shanti Om.” It was also reported that the “Furious 7” actor, Diesel, personally offered her a role in the “The Fast and Furious 7” movie outfit, but she turned it down because of prior commitments, IBN Live shared.
“The Last Witch Hunter” actor, on the other hand, posted on Instagram a similarly-themed photograph with the actress. In the photo, they are sitting side-by-side and both are facing the camera, with the “XXX” movie logo on the background as well.
“Piku” as the Indian actress is known, flew to United States for a meeting with the action star and will fly back immediately to India. The “Bajirao Mastani” star will then be back in the U.S. on Dec. 20 to finish all the formalities for her new Hollywood movie, Deccan Chronicle reported.
The “XXX” movie came out back in 2002, where Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) is a spy employed by the National Security Agency. But before being a spy, Cage was an extreme sports enthusiast, a stuntman and a rebellious athlete, all rolled into one. With the current “XXX” film, Diesel says that the movie will have action of the highest order.
