NBA Trade Rumors: LA Clippers Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith Considered as 'Buyout Candidates'; 'Not Much of a Market for Them,' Said NBA Executive

The LA Clippers is slowly gaining momentum with their current winning streak. Ranking 5th in the Eastern Conference, the Clippers are looking move a notch higher in the coming games. As part of their campaign this season, they are planning to trade some players in order fill in their slow start this season.

According to some reports, the Clippers are now testing the market for interest in Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith, though the latter is not yet eligible for a trade deal till December 15. The said move was anchored on the fact that both players are having difficulties in making some impact through their performances during Clippers slow start.

However such plan of the Clippers would somehow be halted for lack of market for both players according to some NBA executives. According to Yahoo Sports, "There is not much of a market for them," one NBA executive said. "They are buyout candidates. Maybe Lance goes back to Indiana, you never know. You won't get back much for them." Another executive also stated via yahoo that, "They are talented, but when you add people like that it does affect the chemistry of their team. I don't think they will be traded. It's a tough thing to do because they didn't have a lot of takers beforehand."

Although there are some speculations of the Pacers wanting Stephenson back on their team, it is still not that feasible; for according to 8points9seconds, "the Pacers have changed and trading for Lance Stephenson would just be making a move for nostalgia's sake that doesn't make this current roster much better."

Having to deal such situation, it would really be hard for some player to perform to the fullest for a team that in sense doesn't want them. However, for some players it would serve as challenge to prove their worth not just in the team but in the league as well.
