‘Pokken Tournament’ News: Photo Leaked Online Hints Sceptile as New Playable Pokemon

The latest news about "Pokken Tournament" involves on the photo that has been leaked online. The picture hints that new playable Pokemon is none other than Sceptile.

According to Comicbook, Sceptile is the new playable character of "Pokemon" fighting game. As noted in the leaked photo, it shows that "the presenter of the Japanese Pokemon news show Pokenchi," Shoko Nakagawa, was playing "Pokken Tournament" arcade game. The most interesting thing in the picture was the sign "showcasing Sceptile as well as two new playable support characters, Electrode and Farfetch'd, nearby."

Siliconera says that the hint came with "the letter 'ン' ('n' in katakana, and the only kana that does not end in a vowel sound) in its Japanese name, it also fits since Sceptile is called ジュカイン Jukain in Japanese." But of course, those are just mere interpretations. No one could be certain about it until it will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 10.

Looking back, Sceptile as a Pokémon character, is "the final evolution of Treeko, a Hoenn region starter Pokemon. This playable character had appeared in "Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and the remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire." Also, this reptilian and bipedal Pokémon "was given a Mega Evolution in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, which turns the popular Grass Pokemon into a Grass/Dragon hybrid."

As a playable character, Sceptile's strength is its signature attack, the Leaf Blade, which uses his powerful pine tree-like tail and two blade-like extensions on its arms. As noted, the reptilian and bipedal Pokémon is considered as the most powerful weapon of Ash.

If the hint from the leaked photo is correct, then Sceptile is the first Grass type that comes out in the "Pokken Tournament" fighting video game. Of course, it is also the "second Hoenn starter to appear in the game (Blaziken, the final evolution of Torchic, was one of the first characters announced)."
