Do you ever want your own paradise in the prestigious area in Dallas, Preston Hollow? You can have one but it will cost $100 million, plus the perks of being neighbor with former President George W. Bush.
Thomas Hicks, who has been an owner of the soccer club Liverpool F.C., the Texas Rangers baseball team, the Dallas Stars hockey team and the Mesquite Championship Rodeo, own the house. It was originally listed for $135 million last year. It is a single family home with 11 fireplaces, 12 bathrooms and two "staff wings."
It is the most expensive house to be on the market in the Texas, which takes about two hours to view, Liverpool Echo notes.
In addition, Market Watch reports that at a price of $100 million, for a single family home at that, indicates that the real estate in Texas is at its "highest point ever." To date, the priciest home to be sold in the same location was listed at $39 million but it cannot be determined how much the buying price was due to Texas' disclosure law.
It is not surprising that Hicks neighbor are also selling their prices at a high price, after all, there are in the same prestigious area. A house on 1.1 acres has a price tag of well over $5 million and one on 0.85 acres is closer to $6 million while there is a price tag of $27.5 million on a house sitting on 6.4 acres lot.
What makes Dallas a booming city is the relatively low cost of living and expanding job market, which makes realty investments pay off. Because of this, people from all over the world are also flocking in. It is also evident of the strong market even during recession. If it will be compared in other major cities in the country, the drop of home prices was not as drastic.
Dallas is still expected to flourish in the years to come.
