The first official trailer for the 2016 anime adaptation of the sweets-shop manga 'Dagashi Kashi' has been released today.
The trailer features the voice of Ayana Taketatsu as the character 'Hotaru Shidara.' The video introduces the characters of the stories and, at the end, shows the schedule of the 2016 debut broadcast of the anime adaptation.
According to the report of Cruchyroll, the trailer narrates the premise of the story, which involves Hotaru's efforts to sway Kokonotsu Shikada, a teenage boy who doesn't want to take over his family's outdated Japanese candy shop.
Anime News Network reported that the anime adaptation of 'Dagashi Kashi' will be directed by Shigehito Takeyanagi and will feature animation by the studio Feel. The script will be written by Yasuko Kamo, Tatsuhiko Urahata and Michiko Yokote. The characters will be designed by Kanetoshi Kamimoto. Satoshi Matoyama will be in charge with directing the sound, while Pony Canyon will be the one producing the music. The opening theme song of the new anime series is entitled "Checkmate!?" and will be performed by 19-year-old singer, Michi.
'Dagashi Kashi,' written by Kotoyama, is a manga that follows Kokonotsu, a boy who does not want to take over his family's rural candy store as originally wished by his father. A girl named Hotaru, who is crazy about small-time candy stores, appears at the store and visits the candy store over and over again in order to persuade Kokonotsu to manage the shop.
